Dr.
Tonyatta Hairston is a native of Jackson, Mississippi. She received
her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Tougaloo College in
Tougaloo, Mississippi. Dr. Hairston attended Southern College of
Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee where she graduated with honors.
While at SCO she was a Dean's List Student, recipient of the
Clinical Science Award, Student of the Year, and Gold Key
International Honor Society President.
She studied at externships including
Keesler Medical Center in Biloxi, MS, Dr. Dewey Handy Optometry in
Jackson, MS, and Dr. Watts Davis in Laurel, MS where she was trained
extensively in the treatment of ocular diseases, contact lenses,
pediatric optometry, and pre- and post-surgical eye care. Dr.
Hairston practices full scope optometry and enjoys enriching the
lives of every patient, from pediatric to geriatric, through
superior optometric care.
Dr. Hairston is a member of the
American Optometric Association, president of the Mississippi
Chapter of the National Optometric Association, and the Mississippi
Optometric Association. She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha
Sorority, Incorporated, Beta Delta Omega Chapter, and a member of
Greater Fairview Baptist Church.
